Healing and Wholeness Services

For a while now the churches of Shefford have been holding regular services of “Healing and Wholeness” - you may have seen the posters! What are we doing? Could it be something that would help you? Would it help someone you know?

The life of Jesus, as recorded in the Bible, portrays a man who sought to bring healing. When he met people there was an encounter, a meeting of minds, and on many occasions a transfer of peace, power and hope. Jesus was both in touch with a person’s needs, and with the divine power that came from his heavenly Father.

In the services those who pray for others seek to be open channels of God’s power; they are not healers - only God is seen as the healer. But there is still an interaction in which God often reveals a person’s need and helps those praying to find appropriate words. This praying is done in a simple, gentle way. So many times, in my experience, the person being prayed for is astounded by how right the prayer was for them and many are aware of the presence of God during the prayer.

Through the services many have been helped, they return and tell us about it! God is able to help in many areas of people’s lives, physical, emotional and spiritual - God is concerned with the whole person and prayer always seems to have some effect, often with an element of the unexpected!

All the description in the world could not explain what healing and wholeness in God is all about. The best way would be to experience it for yourself; so on behalf of the Churches of Shefford consider yourself invited to our ecumenical services.

May there be a rich blessing for you if you come for yourself, or come on behalf of someone else.
